How long is this going to take?
That is the real question before anyone signs up for anything. Not "is this good." Just: how much of my evening does this cost?
And people brace for the worst, because they have earned the right to. A signup form with fourteen fields. A password to invent, and then remember. A profile completeness bar that never quite fills. A page that goes public the second it exists, with a settings menu you have to go dig through to fix that.
Belovity asks for three screens. Two of them are three fields or fewer. The third one is optional.
And if you arrived from someone else's invite link, it is one screen.
Here is every field, in order, so you know exactly what you are walking into.
The shape of it
Three steps, and you can see how many are left
Step 1 is your personal profile: first name, last name, username.
Step 2 is your family page: page name, family picture, banner image.
Step 3 is inviting your partner: one email field, and you can skip it.
Progress dots sit under every form, so the number of screens left is never a mystery. Each screen also has a Go back button, which means nothing here is a one-way door.
On the very first screen, back just logs you out. You never get trapped mid-signup.
No password, ever
You get in one of three ways: a sign-in link sent to your email, Google, or Facebook.
There is no password field anywhere in signup, because there is no password. Nothing to invent, nothing to store, nothing to leak later.
Leave and come back
Belovity remembers which step you finished.
Close the tab on step 2, come back tomorrow, and you land on step 2 again.
Try to jump ahead to a step you have not earned and you get bounced back to the right one. Try to use the rest of the app before you finish, and it walks you back to where you stopped.
Screen by screen
Screen 1: who you are
First name and last name, side by side.
Then username, with an @ sitting in front of it. Letters, numbers, dashes, and underscores, up to 20 characters. It is checked for availability when you submit, so if it is taken you are told right then, not three screens later.
Why it asks: your username is what displays on your family page, so relatives can tell who is who.
That is the whole screen. Three fields.
Screen 2: the family page itself
Family page name, up to 30 characters. "Sam & Robin." "The Alvarez Family." Whatever you would say out loud.
This is also what your page's web address gets built from. If two families happen to pick the same name, they both still get their own working address.
Family picture is one image uploaded from your device. It is the round one at the top of the page.
Banner image is the wide one behind it, and you pick it from a carousel of artwork that ships with the app. Seventeen options are included: brick, fabric, ink, sky, soil, water, and wood. Pick one and move on. You do not have to find, crop, or resize anything, and nothing here requires you to own a nice camera or hire a designer.
The live preview is the whole trick
Above the form sits a mock-up of your actual family page.
Type in the name field and the name on the preview changes as you type. Drop in a family picture and it appears in the preview circle immediately, before anything is saved. Tap a banner and the preview background swaps to it.
Your @username is already sitting under the name, next to a greyed-out @your-partner placeholder showing where they will land.
The follower count reads 0. That is the honest starting number, and a quiet reminder that nobody is here yet unless you invite them.
Screen 3: your partner, and you can skip it
One field: your partner's email.
The helper text says it plainly: or just continue, you can always do this later. Skipping is a real option, not a dark pattern. Press Continue with the field empty and you are done.
If you do fill it in, they are invited as an admin. That is full co-owner-level control of the page, not a spectator seat. The invite goes out by email.
Belovity catches obvious typos first, too. Type robin@gmial and it asks whether you meant robin@gmail.com.
Then you land on your family page.
What happens the moment you press the last button
Your page is private before you have touched a single setting
A new family page is created private. Not private after you configure it. Private at creation.
You are its owner, which is the top role, with everything that implies. Nobody can see the page until you hand out a link or approve a follower.
There is no window between "created" and "locked down" for someone to wander in through.
Search visibility is a separate setting you control later, from Page Settings. Sharing something never quietly puts it in a search index.

The trial is not a crippled preview. It turns on every paid feature:

A progress bar on your billing page shows the days remaining, counting down honestly.
The trial is tied to your first page, not to every page. Creating a second family page later does not restart the clock.
No card is required to start it.
Your images are cleaned on the way in
Belovity strips the hidden metadata off every image you upload, including your family picture.
You do not turn this on. It happens to every upload, always.
The one-screen version: arriving by invite
Most people's first Belovity experience is not signup at all. It is a link from a relative.
If you came from someone else's link, you do not build a page
Belovity knows how you arrived and shortens the flow to match.
You fill in screen 1 only, name and username, and you are through. No family page to name, no banner to pick, no partner to invite.
You land directly on the page you were invited to, not on a generic dashboard.
The four arrival routes
Invited as an admin. Someone sent you a co-owner invite for their page. One screen, then straight to accepting it.
A shared follower link. One screen, and you are made a follower of that family automatically on the way through.
Requesting to follow. One screen, and your request is filed with the family for approval. You will hear back when they decide.
Sent straight to a gift list. One screen, then you are dropped on the list you were sent to.
The nice consequence
Grandparents, siblings, and coworkers never have to think about creating a family page at all.
The person setting things up does the three screens. Everyone else does one.
Later: doing it again
The same family-page screen gets reused whenever you create another family page from your account.
Same three fields, same live preview, same private-by-default result.
Because you have done it once already, there is no onboarding wrapper around it. It is a single screen, and then you are on the new page.
That is handy for a separate page for a wedding versus a baby, or one page per side of the family.
Checklist: before you start
Have your email address handy, or be signed into Google or Facebook.
Decide the family page name. Thirty characters, and it shapes your web address, so pick something you would say out loud.
Pick a username you would want relatives to see. Letters, numbers, dashes, underscores, 20 characters max.
Optional: have one image ready for the family picture. The banner comes from the bundled set, so you do not need one for that.
Optional: your partner's email, if you want them running the page with you from day one.
Not needed: a password, a credit card, a bio, or a phone number.
